Jacob LaFreniere is an Associate with the firm. He is a Boston employment and litigation attorney representing professionals in conducting contract reviews, negotiating severance agreements, non-competes, and other employment agreements. He counsels employees on their rights following the termination of their employment or other disciplinary actions, including warnings and performance improvement plans. He represents employees in technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, health care, retail, manufacturing, law, engineering, construction, and secondary and higher education.
Attorney LaFreniere represents clients in wage and hour cases, including overtime pay cases, tip pooling cases, and independent contractor matters. He also represents employees in sexual harassment and discrimination cases. These include claims based upon disability, race, gender, age, national origin, and other forms of discrimination. Attorney LaFreniere graduated magna cum laude from Penn State Law and magna cum laude from Eastern Connecticut State University. He practices before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the EEOC, and in Massachusetts courts. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He also worked as a judicial law clerk of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court in Worcester County and was a member and Articles Editor of the Penn State Law Review. He is the author of the Comment “A Bet Against Abetting: Why Medical Marijuana Reimbursement Under Workers’ Compensation Is Not a Federal Crime,” published in Volume 125 of the Penn State Law Review.
